distraction or abstraction?

This is a topic (and an image) I want to get back to. It pulls back to some initial differences we are seeing between Birkerts and Hayles. It looks ahead to what we are going to explore with the print shop–and the understanding that the invention of books was (and still can be) viewed as radically distracting. And maybe that is a good thing. I also see this as an image of what we want to do in this course–another version of pulling back the curtain; here using technology to look into the invention of creativity.
